Youth Exchange
🌍 About the Youth Exchange
The ECAPT Youth Exchange, titled Empowerment through Creative Arts and Participation for European Teens, will take place from 10 to 18 February 2026 in Vienna, Austria. This international gathering brings together 25 young participants (aged 16–22) and 5 youth leaders from Austria, Cyprus, Poland, Portugal, and Lithuania. Hosted by Tredu Club, a grassroots NGO based in Vienna, this exchange is designed to empower teenagers and young adults to explore themes of inclusion, identity, and anti-discrimination through artistic and participatory methods. Two trained facilitators will guide the group throughout this transformative learning journey.
This exchange is rooted in the belief that creative expression is a powerful vehicle for change. The project provides a safe and inspiring environment for young people to discuss personal experiences with discrimination and to use tools like theatre, dance, visual arts, and storytelling to express their stories and propose alternative narratives. The entire experience is based on principles of non-formal education, encouraging experiential learning, peer support, and self-reflection.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in hands-on workshops using methods such as Forum Theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, dance and movement workshops, visual art creation, and group discussions. They will also take part in intercultural evenings, team-building activities, and public presentations to promote understanding, empathy, and intercultural dialogue. The working language will be English, though peer support and inclusive methods will ensure that everyone can fully engage.
A highlight of the exchange will be the final public performance or exhibition, where participants showcase their creative reflections on the themes of discrimination, inclusion, and empowerment. These outcomes will be digitally documented and shared through the ECAPT digital gallery hosted by Tredu Club. Additionally, each national team will organize local follow-up activities in their countries to ensure the project's messages reach wider audiences.

The venue in Vienna offers youth-friendly accommodation, inclusive spaces for artistic work, and access to cultural sites. All travel, accommodation, and meals are covered by Erasmus+, and participants will receive a Youthpass Certificate to validate their learning. https://ecapt.webnode.page/hosting-venue/
This youth exchange represents not only a week of creative exploration but a stepping stone for lasting personal growth, new friendships, and collective action for a more inclusive and artistic Europe.
